Government Polytechnic Reasi Organized Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme
Government Polytechnic College Reasi today organized an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme in the college campus in collaboration with MSME. The programme aimed at motivating students to explore entrepreneurship as a promising career opportunity and to create awareness about various government schemes and startup policies.
The programme commenced with a welcome address and brief introduction by Shahid Hussain Wani, Young Professional, who highlighted the significance of entrepreneurial mindset among youth and encouraged students to become job creators rather than job seekers.
A detailed session on Schemes of MSME Ministry was delivered by Aman Singh, Assistant Director, who explained various MSME schemes, financial assistance, subsidies, and registration procedures available for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Principal of the college, Er. Arun Bangotra, addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of entrepreneurship in technical education. He motivated students to utilize their technical skills, think innovatively, and take advantage of government support systems to establish their own ventures.
The session on PMEGP Scheme & J&K Industrial Policy was conducted by Ankur Sharma, Functional Manager DIC, who elaborated on eligibility criteria, loan assistance, margin money subsidy, and opportunities under the industrial policy framework of the region.
Further, Munish Sharma, Director RSETI, delivered an informative talk on Financial Inclusion and Banking Products, guiding students about loan procedures, credit facilities, financial literacy, and banking support essential for starting and sustaining enterprises.
An insightful session on J&K Start Entrepreneurship Policy was presented by Abilash Kumar Braroo, District Nodal Officer JKEDI, Jammu, who explained incubation support, funding assistance, mentorship programs, and startup ecosystem initiatives available for young entrepreneurs.
The programme concluded with an interactive Question-Answer Session, where students actively participated and clarified their doubts regarding startup registration, funding, and government schemes.
The event was coordinated by Himanshu Bakshi, Demonstrator, with the support of faculty members Vandana Sharma, Ayushi Magotra, Veena Kumari, Akanksha Sharma, Nisha Kumari, Meenakshi Devi, and Parshotam Singh. More than 100 students attended the programme and benefitted from the expert guidance and practical insights shared during the sessions.
